Long Beach Couple and Hired Hitman Arrested for Attempted Murder Plot

A woman, her husband, and a man hired by the couple are facing multiple criminal charges in the alleged attempted murder of the woman’s 62-year-old mother. The trio was arrested after detectives were able to uncover evidence of the supposed murder plot with the help of the elderly victim. The three are jailed under $50 million bail.

According to The Long Beach Press Telegram, the 41-year-old woman allegedly plotted to have her mother killed after learning that her mother had applied for foster parent status of the her two children.

The 50-year-old man allegedly hired to commit the murder was linked to the attack using DNA evidence. He reportedly gained access to the elderly woman’s residence by impersonating a worker from the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services before assaulting the victim with a blunt object and attempting to suffocate her.

The three individuals have pleaded not guilty and remain in jail under $50 million bail.
